The Art of Storytelling: The Pivot Circle
A key part of Skout is telling the stories of our customers, our technology partners, and our team. Stories about how our customers are creating alternative food systems, because their communities have largely been left behind and forgotten. Stories about producing food that is culturally-relevant and allows them to carve out a market /niche that due to the “homogeneity” and “efficiency” of our food system, does not exist. Stories about founders’ personal journeys. Stories about growers and the grind of being a farmer. Stories of success and failure. They are opportunities to talk about the people who are creating the technology and moving the industry forward.
There’s also something in sharing the nuances of life, of trying to build and grow a company—especially while you’re doing it, not when you’ve raised your series A or have 10 years under your belt. We tend to hear more from the victors than those who are in the trenches trying to fund and grow and make something work. This is where we want our content to live– we want to build a space for practicality, a place to entertain, and a place to inspire.
Lastly, you’ll find the things we love at Skout that keep us inspired, help us reflect and grow. As much as we love building farms, we love a few other things too.
Welcome to the Pivot Circle, where changemakers live. A place where our content pivots away from industry jargon and shares what changemakers are doing to reshape their communities— don’t worry, you’ll still find some industry best practices because we love that too. This is a place where we pivot towards telling the stories of the growers and entrepreneurs building, failing, and succeeding. A place where we pivot towards telling stories in new and meaningful ways.
We hope you’ll join us.
